Improving the Quality of Long-Term Care
This new report from the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Improving Quality in Long-Term Care describes the current state of long-term care -- including care provided by nursing homes, home-health agencies, and residential facilities. The report identifies the strengths and limitations of methods used to measure, oversee, and improve these care settings and offers recommendations to federal, state, and local decision-makers.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on December 5, 2000. The full report is available on-line through the Web site of the National Academies Press.
