Innovation Inducement Prizes at the National Science Foundation

As requested by Congress in P.L. 109-108, this new report from the National Academies proposes a plan for the National Science Foundation (NSF) to administer prizes to individual scholars or teams that develop novel solutions to specific social or research needs, or that capitalize on recognized research opportunities.

These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on January 23, 2007 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
