Life and Physical Sciences Research for a New Era of Space Exploration:
An Interim Report
Requested by Congress in P.L. 110-161, this first report of a committee conducting a decadal survey of NASA’s biological and physical sciences identifies areas for strengthening the organization and management of this research, including a number of broad topics that could be near-term opportunities for study on the International Space Station. The committee’s final report is expected to be released in early 2011.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on July 14, 2010 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
