Requested by Congress in P.L. 111-84, this new report from the National Academies reviews the quality of scientific research and engineering at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), and Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). The review is being carried out in two phases, and this first report focuses on how management of the laboratories affects the quality of their science and engineering.
These briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on February 15, 2012 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
