This new National Academies’ report assesses the math education given to U.S. preschoolers and recommends ways to improve it. The report identifies math concepts that children in this age group should learn and presents principles for curriculum developers and teachers to follow.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on July 2, 2009 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
