Review Procedures for Water Resources Planning
The National Academies' Panel on Peer Review, from its Committee to Assess the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Methods of Analysis and Peer Review for Water Resources Projects Planning, examines whether the Corps' analysis and peer review is sufficient to evaluate and approve costly projects on the nation's waterways. This study was requested by Congress in the Water Resources Development Act of 2000 (PL 106-541).
The series of briefings held were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on July 25, 2002 and can be found online, in full text, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
