Third Report
This new report from the National Academies is the latest review of the research and development program of the FreedomCAR (Cooperative Automotive Research) and Fuel Partnership, a program undertaken by the U.S. government in collaboration with the U.S. Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) and five energy companies to develop vehicles that require less petroleum-based fuel and emit fewer greenhouse gases.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on June 30, 2010 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
