Strategies to Leverage Research Funding: Guiding DOD's Peer Reviewed Medical Research Programs
The Defense Department's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) manage many medical and cancer research projects. This new report, Strategies to Leverage Research funding: Guiding DODs Peer Reviewed Medical Research Programs, examines possibilities of augmenting program funding of these research programs through the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command from alternative sources. It focuses on nonfederal and private sector contributions that could extend the appropriated funds without biasing the peer review project selection process.
This briefing was for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on September 8, 2004 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
