Taking Action to Reduce Tobacco Use addresses issues relevant to the current debate including: raising prices of tobacco products through taxes or penalty payments; federal regulation of tobacco products; support for state and local tobacco control; improved measures of use and monitoring achievement of public health goals; treatment of tobacco dependence; federal research efforts; and international tobacco control.
