Treatment for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Military and Veteran Populations:
Requested by Congress in P.L. 111-84, this first report of a two-phase study provides an overview of data that the committee has collected on programs and methods available for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. In its second report, the committee will assess the success rates of these programs and methods.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on July 13, 2012 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
