As requested by Congress in P.L. 109-424 and P.L. 109-479, this report reviews the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Tsunami Program and assesses progress and improvements made since 2005 to strengthen the existing U.S. tsunami detection, forecast, and warning system.
These series of briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on September 17, 2010 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
