TUBERCULOSIS IN THE WORKPLACE
Tuberculosis in the Workplace, a new report by a committee of the Institute of Medicine, examines the risks to health care workers of occupational exposure to tuberculosis. The report, which is in answer to a request by Congress in PL 106-113, also considers the potential effects of proposed workplace regulations developed by the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
A series of briefings on the report were held on Capitol Hill on January 11, 2001. The report was publicly released on Tuesday, 16, 2001 and can be found, in its entirety, on the National Academy Press Web site.
