"El Niņo and La Niņa: Tracing the Dance of Ocean and Atmosphere" is an occasional article intended to explain the outcomes of basic scientific research. It was written by science writers Roberta Conlan and Robert Service for the National Academy of Sciences’ Office on Public Understanding of Science. Scientific review was provided by individual members of the National Research Council's Ocean Studies Board and other ocean and atmospheric scientists.
