2007 Surviving Spouse Of A SERVICE RETIREE
Health Benefit Programs
Benefits offered to surviving spouses of official SERVICE RETIREE are based on the retiree’s date of retirement, length of service with the National Academies and eligibility for Medicare. All health insurance benefits are coordinated with Medicare if the surviving spouse is Medicare-eligible. The surviving spouse is responsible for all Medicare premiums.
There are no available surviving spouse benefits if the spouse or domestic partner was not participating in the retiree’s health insurance benefit at the retiree’s date of death.
Please refer to your 2007 Benefits Profile for this information.
