Benefits offered to official SERVICE RETIREES are based on their date of retirement, length of service with the National Academies and eligibility for Medicare. All health insurance benefits are coordinated with Medicare if the participant is Medicare-eligible. The participant is responsible for all Medicare premiums.

As an official SERVICE RETIREE, your spouse, domestic partner and dependents at your date of retirement are eligible for health insurance coverage if they have been continuously enrolled since your date of retirement. The medical plan you choose for yourself determines the medical plan for your eligible dependents.
