Student Forum on Science and Technology Policy

This event will be held at the National Academies Keck Center, 500 5th St. N.W. Washington, DC

About the Forum….

On January 4-5, 2008, the National Academies are sponsoring a two-day public forum intended for students, postdoctoral fellows, and recent graduates interested in studying and careers in science and technology policy.

The forum will feature both invited presentations and interactive discussions that will bring together a cross-section of government, academia, and industry to address practice and opportunities of the science and technology profession.

What to expect…..

Keynote addresses
Hear from leading state, national, and international policy figures from government, industry, and the nonprofit sector.

Panel discussions
Case studies of major policy debates and actions with the participants who were directly involved.

Small breakout sessions
Talk to policy practitioners from Congress, the executive branch, international organizations, advocacy groups, companies, professional associations, disciplinary societies, and the media. Find out what they do and how they got their jobs.

Poster Session and Networking Reception
An opportunity for participants to meet with established members of the science and technology policy community and to display their work to a wide audience of policy professionals.
