Committee on Astronomy and Astrophysics
The committee provides oversight on space- and ground-based astronomy and astrophysics, operating as a joint committee of the Board on Physics and Astronomy (BPA) and the Space Studies Board (SSB). The committee scope includes all aspects of space and ground astronomy, including theory, technology development, and observations; key activities include strategic research guidance and program and project assessment. The CAA is funded jointly by NASA through the SSB, and NSF through BPA.
