Committee on Planetary and Lunar Exploration
The committee provides oversight on the entire range of planetary system studies that can be conducted from space as well as on ground-based activities in support of space-based efforts. The disciplinary scope of its oversight includes the geosciences, atmospheres, exobiology, particles and fields, planetary astronomy, and the search for planets around other stars. The committee assists the Board in organizing studies, monitoring the implementation of strategies, and assessing technology in NASA and other government agencies.
