Adam Korobow
Adam Keith Korobow began his work with the STEP Board on October 2001. Dr. Korobow earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University in July 2001 as well as a Master of Arts in Economics in December of 1998. Both his doctoral and his Master’s work focus on the dynamics of small business and entrepreneurial performance.
Before joining the STEP Board, Dr. Korobow worked with the World Bank. In the Bank’s México Country Management Unit of the Latin America and Caribbean Region, he served as an economic policy advisor to the Lead Economist for México. He co-authored two major World Bank papers on Macroeconomic Shocks and Decentralization in México for the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Series (PREM). He also regularly contributed to the development of country policy directives and strategies through applied research, while also developing methods to enhance the Bank’s capacity to monitor macroeconomic developments in México and Latin America. His accomplishments also involved the initiation of a longitudinal study of small firm innovation and technology adoption and performance in México.
Dr. Korobow’s current interests include the econometric evaluation of small firm dynamics, entrepreneurial outcomes in a knowledge-based economy, and the impact of public awards on small firm formation and performance. He is the author of a major book to be published this spring by Kluwer Academic Publishers entitled, Entrepreneurial and Small Business Wage Dynamics in the Knowledge-Based Economy. He is also co-authoring a number of articles on small business development with Professor David Audretsch of Indiana University and the recipient of the prestigious International Award for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research.
