Membership

The members of the USNC/IUBS are appointed by the chair the National Research Council and serve for one, six-year term. Members are nominated by U.S. professional societies in biology and by the committee itself to ensure broad representation in the biological sciences across taxonomic and disciplinary lines. American officers of the IUBS serve as ex-officio members of the committee.
