The National Academies’ U.S. National Committee for Mathematics is conducting a survey. They are trying to add some good details to the counts of mathematics majors that are already carried out by the mathematics societies. Our goal is to learn WHY students choose to be mathematics majors.
I will personally appreciate your input -- to discover if we can learn something valuable for mathematics. Of course the difficulty is to know the right questions to ask. Would you respond with short answers to these 6 questions, and add any comments on good ways to encourage mathematics everywhere. THANK YOU!!
I certainly hope you enjoy being a math major!
Best wishes,
Gilbert Strang
